Few minutes ago upgraded BOX.NET application from version 1.1 to 3.0.
Started BOX.NET on the PlayBook ... and poped up a message that my 5 Giga free account was upgraded to 50 Giga for FREE.
Seconds later an email from BOX.NET indicates it is a limited offer - everybody just hurry up
I just tried and didn't get the extra space. It still says in the app world description that you get 50 free gigs. I sent there support an e-mail. Guess ill wait and see what they say back.
I downloaded this and was putting some videos I had made and got message that one exceeded 2gb and I could upgrade to a $15 a month plan for larger files.

limited time offer to give the 50 Gigs to a friend as well... not the app for the pb. Its 50 Gigs for the PB
Great gift from Box. My wife tried the same in her ipad without luck (just 5gb free for apples). Thanks Box!
Try having your wife sign into her account through the Playbook... I did this on my wifes Touchpad before we got the same offer for the playbook and it worked to upgrade both accounts
Question is if i put media on the box can i access it directly and quickly on the PB? For example can a movie be watched? Actually I'm uploading one as we speak to test it and will let you know.
I am sure Box.net supports a variety of tablets but some might need to use the website, just like my BlackBerry smartphone, rather than a dedicated application, just like my BlackBerry PlayBook. Why ask a generic question best answered by discovering the answer yourself?

You can't stream in the box app, but if you go to the website you can stream music (mp3) and video (flv) - I've been using xmediarecode to change some of my mp4s into flv to stream... so far, works great

Ok let me be more specific. I have a box.net account. I have. Bold 9930, a windows XP laptop and an old macbook running tiger. When I heard about this deal I immediately looked to see if there was a box app for the bold 9930 but there is only a webpage icon link. I downloaded that anyway and logged into their site hoping to get the deal. I did not get any notification of any deal. Before I try to go do similar searches on my computers I wanted to ask the kind, polite people of crackberry.com for their insight as to if this deal is exclusive to the PlayBook or if there is some other way to get it. I just didn't feel like boring you guys with all this text.
So as I said before: do you need a PlayBook for this deal to work?
Got the upgrade yesterday and the 50Gb storage. Just a pity the app itself sucks! Can't figure out how to create folders or move files in the app itself...
