Here's the "you're kidding me, right?" question of the day: What is that little "hole", or sensor, next to the LED on the front of the 9930? A light sensor? Or Big Red's hidden cam to conduct secret surveillance functions??
Gotchya. So essentially it shuts off the touch screen while on a telephone call if it senses it's close to your face. Cool. Obviously I've never owned a touch-screen device before.
It is on both the 9900 and 9930, start a phone call with the phone away from your face in a dim room and look just to the left of the LED. You will see a faint red flickering light, that's the proximity sensor looking for you.
this sensor has alwasy been there... if u noticed on ur old bolds (or other phones)...
if you place ur phone to ur cheek the screen turns off... well i guess u really cant see if its on ur cheek lol... but typically the sensor is right below where the LED is (that is why the led used to have a 'longer round rectangular hole as opposed to a circle hole).
