I really want to love the 9810. I loved my 9800, and was extremely happy about getting 4g and a faster processor. However, my 9810 has crashed probably 6 times since I bought it on launch day. I'm sick of losing all of my messages and info everytime I have to reload it. I cringe whenever I have to restart the 9810 because it always comes up with the Error 102 reload software message. Is anyone else having this problem?

I'm currently going back to my 9800 and trying to figure out what to do with this 9810 that doesn't work.

Return it and get a new one. Thats not a common problem, unless of course, you are transferring all your apps from the 9800 to the 9810 using DM.

I didn't reload a single app from my 9800. I started fresh by downloading everything from the AppWorld, which wasn't much. I've already tried a different OS and no change. When I restart, the loading bar always gets stuck at about 75% and then I get the reload software message.

I bought it at a Best Buy while on a business trip. Hopefully my local store will exchange it and won't give me any hassle now that it loads just fine now that it is wiped.

Any best buy will allow you to do the exchange as long as you are in the 30 day period. After that then you will need to contact RIM. The 9810 is way better than the original. Swap the phone and you will be pleased.

had mine for a couple weeks now, haven't even needed to pull the battery.

Take it back and get a replacement. Lemons do happen sometimes.

Yeah, don't get discouraged. Probably just got a lemon. Take it back to Best Buy.

Agree with everyone else, you have a defective one. Return it and get another. No need to go back to the 9800.

Well Best Buy exchanged my phone. Honestly, the girl didn't even look at my phone. She was more worried about making sure all of the accessories were in the box that I brought back.

This one seems pretty quick, although it should, as it's brand new. Here we go with 9810 #2! Reloading all my apps now.

Hmm, I'd definitely return it and get a new one. Before I purchased my 9810, I read and watched reviews like there was no tomorrow to ensure I wasn't walking into a crappy 2-year ordeal with AT&T based off of a faulty device. I've not had a single major problem *knock on wood* but I'm sorry to hear that you are.

"If it gives ya flack....TAKE IT BACK!" LOL!

Some feel uncomfortable returning things, even when there is an obvious defect. Glad to hear you did it and the people in the returns dept. don't care. They only want to know if it's "returnable" based on the date of the receipt and even if it's past the 30 days (or whatever their return policy is), I've gotten them to take it back. Yours was a legitimate issue and I hope your new 9810 works like it should.

    ***EDIT***
Sometimes BestBuy charges a restocking fee (10-15%) but even then I've gotten them to waive it if it's an obvious defect.

That's what I did as well. I tried using the same settings from my old curve and I realized that things weren't working on it so I wiped out the entire device and started fresh.

Mine has stuck on 75% while booting a couple of times but I've been able to reboot it sucessfully each time, plus I don't get the loading error message.

Any Best Buy should do a swap for you. Same thing happened with me. Bought in Atlanta, traded out in Savannah.

Glad to hear they swapped it out. I love my 9810 and it holds a signal sooo much better than my atrix and some other devices I shall not mention.
