As title says the version from appworld is from over a year ago, 2.6.5918

The version from both the beta and normal ota site at :

WhatsApp for BlackBerry and WhatsApp for BlackBerry is currently at .7305 and is a LOT more forgiving on your 9900 battery life than 5918.

No tests to show for it but Im sure someone with meterberry can prove this hypothesis to be correct.

    Hope this helps.

5918 was KILLING my battery, now on 7305 it is a lot better. Running .353 firmware.

Also as an addition they were serving .5918 over the standard OTA WhatsApp site until a few days ago, so double check what version you are running.

    .5918 is the battery killer

Thanks, great tip this is. BTW it's .7383 just now when I downloaded from the non-beta OTA link.

Would the new version .7305 work on the Torch OS 6 ?
Does it have any other features than saving the battery life?
    Thanks

Wow, this might be the last thing to make Agent 99 rock solid! Downloaded. 2.5MB in about 5 seconds, while on a tech support call with a VIP.

    BB MULTI-TASKING JUTSU!!!

Always best to have the latest version, however whatever the OTA website says is the right version for your phone is the right version.

Also nice tip ! Updating again now ! :-D

    Normal OTA showing : .7383
    Beta OTA showing : .7383

Sometimes the BETA site has a newer version than normal but at the moment they seem to be going like for like. Always best to check both if you're having a look anyway.

I just wish they'd do one that sorted out the icon pixelation and the funky behaviour of the chats in the messages folder.

Then again - I'm happy they're getting the thing to place nicely with my battery, might even push the brightness up a few notches on my screen now
