Hi. The Bold 9700/9780 have the best battery life, better than any BlackBerry device. There is some memory leak but is not too much, also you have available twice memory than your Curve 9300.

I think you'll like the 9780. It's got a lot to offer. As already mentioned, it has a lot of memory, it's running OS 6, and the hardware is great. They keyboard I find very easy and intuitive. Hope you enjoy!

not trying to steal this thread but you know if the new 9900 has similar batter life to the 9000? As a previous 9000 owner, the batter life on that sucked!

    Thanks.

I think the battery life is great. If I could remember to turn my wi-fi off, it'll probably be the first phone I've had in ages that doesn't require a recharge every night.

The Bold 9780 is an excellent choice. For the reasons I shall now state.

    1) Battery Life: its spectacular, the curve batteries can't come close to how long the 9780's battery lasts. (On EDGE, it went a whole day even with moderate to heavy usage during the day for me. On 3G expect it to bump down to 14+hrs on heavy use.)
    2) Camera: 5MP with auto focus. Takes amazing shots

    3) The extra memory: when compared to the 9700, we 9780 users have an advantage.

As for the memory leak, get a stable OS version. I'd say go for the .600. It works fast and doesn't eat up your memory like the ones prior to .4xx ones.

wow great to hear that about the battery life coming from the 9300 (witch has really bad battery life) i'm pleased to know i will no longer have to think about charging it every time before i go out somewhere, also great to know about the camera this sounds like the best BB ever , also i know my OS 6.0.0534 has a memory leak problem now my question, is it all OS6 versions or just a few of them, not really a huge deal seeing as the bold has more memory thanks

Its just a few, if you browse through the forums you'd see everybody has their own favorite version that works best on their BB....you've got to experiment a bit.
I've updated my BB every time a new version is either released or leaked. Each OS has their pros and cons, all builds before .600 used to crash, now it doesn't happen with the 600 and the 650

I miss my 9000 keyboard - but NEVER shall I have a device with a touch screen. Then I rather steal my wife's old SonyErichsson W995.
Some touch-screens aren't that bad, actually. But it's still great to be back on a qwerty-keyboard again. Hopefully, RIM will continue to push out qwerty-phones for many years to come.
