Hello guys I really want to get the brand new Torch 9860. It hasn't been released in my country yet and I can't wait any longer and so I'm thinking of buying one from the US. I'm aware that after I buy one from there I have to unlock it so I'll be able to use my country's SIM. AT&T hasn't released it yet and from what I've heard AT&T is the major GSM networks in the US. Where else can I buy the Torch 9860 or is AT&T my only option? Plus if there's any site that you know of that delivers it worldwide please don't hesitate to post links. I'd appreciate it very much.

Note: my country uses GSM 900/1800 frequencies.

in the states AT&T is the way to go for what you need. In canada 2 of the major carries have released the 9860 aw of this week. an unlocked bell telus or rogers phone will work great for you.

The 9860 is not available yet in the states from AT&T. Your only option right now is to buy one in Canada from either Rogers, Telus or Bell.

So if I bought one from one of the 3 carriers I'll be able to use it in my country with my country's SIM with no problems? I just have to make sure to get it unlocked and that the GSM of the 9860 be the same as my country's GSM frequencies, right?

Yep as long as it's unlocked and uses the same frequencies it'll work. So either AT&T or Rogers from the frequencies that you mentioned. Though Rogers is in Canada.

I agree, get a Rogers device and unlock it, then it will work with your GSM carrier.

I bought mine from Axiom Telecom's online store. Here's the link to the Torch 9860 if you're interested: http://online.axiomtelecom.com/new/blackberry-9860.html

Why would Rogers be better than Bell or Telus for this guy? Aren't those 3 carrier's devices the same?

There was something that I saw where H+ device radios don't work with AT&T from Bell and Telus, but the Rogers H+ devices do. If I'm wrong though, someone correct me please. But if it were me, I'd be on the safe side and go with a Rogers/AT&T GSM phone.

Would Rogers/Bell/Telus be any different from one another if up on T-Mobile?

I'm not sure about Bell or Telus, but even though Rogers and T-Mobile are both GSM, they have different frequencies. Using a Rogers (or AT&T) phone on T-Mobile only makes Edge work. 3G and H+ don't.

I'm not sure what frequencies Bell/Telus use, but it would be best to check if they're the same as T-Mobile, otherwise you'd probably just get Edge also. Luckily T-Mobile came out with the 9900 so the 9860 should be close behind! I still have to wait on AT&T

for h+ bell and telus share the same network and rogers uses a similar frequency

t-mobile is on a different '4g' frequency so it will not work above 2g if u try to move a phone from tmobile to rogers or vice versa

u should buy from telus/bell over rogers though as rogers usually brand their phones with splashscreens and logos whereas bell/telus does not
