App World has been running like crap (for me anyway) for about the last week. It usually takes me 2 or attempts to access the intro page via my 9930 or Playbook.
It looks to me like RIM is making an effort to sync App World between the PB and BB. I had issues with BB App World earlier, it's working now...and on a whim peeked around under "Uninstalled" in MyWorld. The apps I have on my PB are listed there(on my BB), both installed and uninstalled, along with my regular BB App World apps. The PB apps are tagged with "Unavailable for this device", which makes sense as PB apps are designed differently than BB apps.
Is anyone having trouble with App World on Tuesday, October 2nd, 11:55 pm PST Time? I have tried updating an app and am receiving the following message: "Install Error [0003-0001] There was a problem during the installation. Please try again"
I've tried downloading a free app that I dont have already and a purchased app as well; I receive the same error message.
Having the exact same problem. I have
turned off wi-fi,
turned it back on,
cleared the cache,
shutdown the playbook,
turned it back on,
all to no avail. I've searched for the error message all over the net, but this thread is about the only thing that references it. I'm hoping it's a problem with appworld servers or something. I'm giving up for tonight and will try tomorrow. I don't think it's a problem with the playbook. Not likely that you're getting the same message at about the same time.
In the UK I get the message that App World is unavailable due to maintenance. About an hour ago App world was showing me the Blackberry Bridge update (version 2.1) was available until i pressed "update all" and I got the message "0 updates available". My guess is that the bridge/playbook OS update has broken the app world. Hopefully it will be back soon!
