I am getting really effing sick of the official RIM attitude toward the app situation. I have been checking the BlackBerry web site community boards, and the party line is that it is up to the application developer to make sure they work with OS7, as if RIM has no responsibility at all in the process.

    Open google maps.
Minimize it (hit turn off key)
Hit magnifying glass (search) on desktop. Hit it again (it turned to mic).
    Say anything. Hit done.
    Go back to google maps.
    Voice search now works.
OhmEye, brava27, KenV54 and 2 others like this.

Brilliant! That worked perfectly. You even introduced me to a feature on my Torch2 I wasn't aware of. Searching by voice is 2kewl!

Why would you need google search when the Blackberry will search a lot of locations including Google.

Make google your default search engine in your browser and when you speak into the mic you will see a browser globe with google written under it. Click it.
