    Hey CrackBerry Community,

Help me out here. I'm trying to quickly get to the root of the MicroSDHC/BlackBerry compatibility issues some people are having.

I know the Pearl, 8800, and Curve series should be able to take the SDHC cards up to at least 4 gigs. The 4 gig cards should be compatible.

At the same time, I've now encountered a few people who are having issues getting their berry's to recognize their 4 gig cards (haven't seen this issue with < than 4 gigs). I personally encountered one occurrence where I put a 4gig Sandisk card into an 8800 and for whatever reason the card would not be recognized, and then immediately after put it into an 8830 and a Curve and both of those devices picked it up no sweat.

Am I going crazy or what's the explanation here? Anybody experience similar issues? Did you figure out why?

    Thanks for the help!

I think it is OS dependant. If you have the newest OS on that 8800 it should probably work. I just put a 4GB card in my wife's 8300 and it works perfectly.

wowza you got the 8gb to work? I read somewhere due to the software that it would only go up to 4gb. Where did you get yours? Darn! I just got my 4gb!

    thanks!

I use a 4 GB microSD card in my Verizon Pearl 8130 and it works fine. It's the SanDisk brand if that helps.

SD and SDHC are not necessarily compatible. I am not 100% sure that BB supports the SDHC format while it doe support standard SD. I have run into this on other devices like my camera, SDHC will not work in it while the standard SD will.

    Just a thought

sandisk microSDHC 8gb works on my 8820 and 8320 without any problem...
    (use latest firmware).

yes,not all SD devices support SDHC but many vendor do firmware upgrade for suport SDHC,if you have digital camera, portable player, etc visit their website and look for latest firmware update.once again not all devices...

    Cheers

I had this problem with my Tour a couple of weeks ago. I was ready to ship my phone back then after taking out the card and sliding it back in, it was recognized. Not sure what I did differently, but it works now without a problem.
