Every time I highlight I begin typing I see an "EN" at the top right corner of the screen similar to the "alt" and "123" icons....this has only happened recently I figured I must have accidentally activated it

I can't specifically remember what triggers it, but you can disable it by going to Options > Language and Text Input > Language ID ('Hide').

It is called language ID, it shows you wich language is set when typing, useful if you have multiple languages on your Berry. I do have multiple languages on it, but I've just disabled it, cuz it's so annoying.

For people on BB OS 6 its Options > Typing and Input > Language then scroll down to Language Switcher and expand it if it isn't already open and scroll down Display Icon: and change option to Hide.
