I searched through several threads to see if I could find an answer to this question. However, since the 9930 from Sprint only came out today, I didn't see the answer. Now, does the sim come unlocked on the 9930 from Sprint? I know the Bold 9650 did. Thanks in advance for your help.
They are coming LOCKED. You can verify this by going to the SIM card screen and typing MEPD. You'll see that the Network lock is ACTIVE. (meaning, locked.)
Last I checked, our BB rep said it was coming unlocked. Maybe its the same as the Motorola Photon that is locked to US sims but not international sims.
my sprint 9930 is unlocked...as soon as i got home i unlocked myself...codes only cost $1-$3 depending where u do it...i find it cheap then calling sprint and being on the phone for how long to get it unlocked....
sj what service are you using your unlocked 9930 with? I'm using it on t-mobile and having trouble accessing internet only texting and phone calls work. I know it has to do with service books but can't seem to get t-mobile to send them to me.
Sounds like a lot of work to do :l I'm going to be returning this phone next week not so sure I wanna mess with it too much in case they want to deny my return lol... I just couldn't wait for the 31st!!

I called sprint and was told that the bb 9930 was shipped unlocked, but when I check the it shows the network active.
