Wow, that site just made that completely up. Theres nothing to indicate that event is for anything to do with a QNX phone. And theres no way the QNX phones are near ready for launch at all. They must be hurting for traffic to post something as silly as that. Might as well have said "RIM to launch 9950 with iOS Aug 23rd?"

RIM is still trying to get the 9900 fully released in the US this is suspect at best.

I think "launching" simply means showing/demoing, not indicating that it's ready to go out the door soon.

RIM showed/teased the Playbook in Sept 2010 and it was released in April 2011 - that's over 6 months between giving us a first glimpse and the release.
Showing/teasing a QNX phone now still could mean a March (or later) release date.

Three big reasons theres no way it's true:

1) They show off a new QNX phone now they hurt sales of the new BB7 phones.

2) If they were demoing QNX they would not debut it in the UK. It would be a major press event in the US (Such as BBWorld or DevCon).

3) QNX on phones is not ready.

Playbook Native PIM/e-mail possibly, but no way in **** would they even discuss the QNX phone when the OS7 phones still aren't out on all carriers.

ya, because QNX phones would be shown at a event rather than a big place like say devcon lol (playbook was devcon also).

now, what phone do people in the uk love, and we havent seen the new one of yet?? ah that`ll be the curve then lol.
