Fellow crackberry users...

Welcome me back! I was a iphone/Droid user for a year or so... and but Im back!


I am having two issues.... It wont let me put my gmail onto the phone? I have changed my password to make sure that is not the case...... Tips?


Secondly- any recommendations for using AIM? It looked like AIM doesnt work on this BB for some reason? Any work around?

I got home last night at 10pm est and setup my phone. I wasn't able to setup email or couldn't reach the internets. I figured out I wasn't connected to BIS by going to connections then to service status. I will have to call in at 8am est to have verizon turn BIS on for me.

You might want to check you have service.

there are a few 3rd party apps that work with the phone if the native app does not work. look at IM+ free in mobihand or trillian.

as for gmail account, if you are typing the password correctly make sure you are typing the address correctly. other than that i dont know what the issue would be.

Do you def have a BIS data plan? Is your signal in capitals?

OP, can you log into the VZW BIS website and set up gmail there and then push it to your device?

I ended up having to call verizon tech support and they had to "unlock" my gmail account on the BIS server in order for me to set it up.

You might want to try the same.
