I haven't had a chance to play with one of the new phones yet but I was wondering if someone lucky enough to have one could tell me if they are still using version 4.5.3 of Google Maps? With the more powerful CPU, a discreet GPU and touch screens I'm hoping the OS 7 Blackberries might be able to gain access to some of the other features that have been absent till now.
What other features were you expecting? This is still Google Maps on a BlackBerry, not an Android. The 99XX isn't the first BlackBerry with a touchscreen...
Yup. Same 4.5.3 version everyone else has (on my 9900).
I haven't had a touch screen device before (9700 previously), so there are some new(?) (to me) features like the icons to click to zoom or return to your location, instead of the keyboard shortcuts we had to use before ('i' 'o' & zero etc). Plus of course you can drag the screen around and click on it etc as you would expect with touchscreen...
