    85xx series is to old. It will not receive os 6

    Not because of the processor, but because of the memory. The Curve 8520 doesn't have the required built-in memory for running os 6, so the answer is NO.

    As diegonei mentions above, another reason why searching is helpful. The 9300, 9700 and 91XX all have 256mb application memory, which is the same as the 8520.

    Because RIM said the only devices that were getting OS6 were 9800, 9650, 9300, 9100, 9700, 9780, 9670

Subject to carrier certifications in the months ahead, the new OS is expected to be available for the BlackBerry� Bold™ 9700, BlackBerry� Bold™ 9650 and BlackBerry� Pearl™ 3G, as well as future BlackBerry smartphones."
    Curve2 and Storm2 were SOL.
