5mp camera, with the cmos sensor of a 2mp camera, double the memory. That's all.

That's quite a big deal. I tried running OS6 on my 9700 for about a week and got tired of watching that silly clock/egg timer thing. Also the browser would crashout if it came across a web page it thought was too large.

Back on OS5 now and of the opinion the 9700 is not man enough to run OS6

Yeah I'd say half this subforum would disagree with that one.

9780 is exactly Rootbrain said. More memory, better camera

I am using OS 6 on my 9700 without any problems at all.
But, go for 9780, pal! It is worth the money!

I just installed OS 6 on my 9700 in part because I also have a 9780. I am finding OS 6 on the 9700 to be almost unusable (planning to roll back). OS 6 runs great on the 9780.

Well, I've been running OS6 on 9700 for close to a month. Love the UI and especially the universal search bar. No problems with performance whatsoever.

As someone else mentioned there seems a 50/50 split about this and I guess a lot might depend on the many different builds we all have from different carriers and how many apps/themes we are using.

Personally I only have maybe 10 apps and when on OS6 I only had two themes (one stock) and I suffered from lots of lag and was constantly low on memory.

I only used the stock browser (which was lame) and didn't bother trying Opera/Bolt etc. I lasted just over a week before I switched back to the latest build of OS5 my carrier offers (see my Sig) and now things are sweet again

I have been running OS 6 for less than 24hours. My battery used to last for 2 days, I ran out of power twice yesterday. The hour glass was popping up every time I tried to do something. I am running the official AT&T build on an AT&T branded 9700.

Last night I used BB Boss to shrink the OS and things seem quite a bit better but I have still had to pull the battery once since the shrink. I also installed BBSAK last night on my old Windows Netbook along with the two most recent AT&T 5.0 builds and the current 6.0 build. If I still have problems, I am going to either switch back to 5.0 or wipe and try a fresh install of a pre-shrunk AT&T build.

I've been running OS6 on my 9700 since it was first leaked (pretty sure that was 6.0.0.197).

I am currently running 42 apps on my hybrid OS, I have about 65 MB free on boot, with approximately 16 MB of user data (so there'd be a total of over 90 MB free if I wasn't such a packrat).

And I do not get waitclocks, except when installing apps or some other obviously processor-intensive operation.

I note you are running a hybrid, not the official (any) carrier version or even a leaked version.

To be clear, I am currently running my 20110811 hybrid, which is biult on a 6.0.0.615 base (the official released by Bell Mobility - no, that's not my carrier).

Furthermore, if there has been a version of OS 6 leaked or officially released for the 9700, then I have had it installed on my device.

The 9780 is an UPGRADE of the 9700... Google the specs, and I mean, asking which is better is, well, more than silly.

are you getting some sort of special pricing for 9780? Otherwise you would go for newer models.

Like other already have posted here... I would agree with them and recommend to go for the 9900...

If your Blackberry is 9700 and you want to update it so go for the new BOLD 9900... It's not so worth to change from 9700 to 9780 but if you can do it for free then do it.
