I have noticed that a lot of people have posted getting the 9930 from Verizon for $199 without having a NE2 upgrade to use. I got mine for $199 but that was with the NE2 upgrade. Are people just mistaken about whether they had an upgrade to use or did it not matter if you had a NE2?

It depends. I am an AT&T customer who switched to Verizon earlier today to get the 9930. I used a link given by my employer which, in addition to giving a monthly % discount on service, made the phone $199.

I ordered mine this morning from the Verizon website for $199 + taxes of course. I was eligible for an upgrade, but not eligible for a new every 2 discount yet. When I first got on the website, it was listed at $249, when I put it in my cart the first time, it was full retail, and then after logging out and back in saw the $199 price and went ahead and ordered it. As to the data plan, I was assured earlier on a phone call with a rep that my price would not be affected when I got another smartphone, even if I upgraded to a 4g. We'll see I suppose.

Funny because I called CS with the same problem. Paid $199 with NE2 credit. Ended up cancelling that order because it seemed I was "wasting" my NE2 when all of my secondary lines were showing an automatic $199. Repurchased with a secondary line.
CS rep had no idea why there was a price discrepancy. She was seeing $249 on all my lines for upgrade, I was seeing $199 so I ran with it. Cancelled first order on primary at $249 - $50, made a second order two hours ago.

I asked if I could accept the package and if she could credit the $50 back to the NE2 account, she said no because the system does it automatically. This was the only way to get the NE2 back.

Mine was 249.99. I was eligible for an upgrade, but since I'm a secondary number on my plan, I think that might be why I wasn't eligible for 199.99.

I paid $199 plus taxes. My phone was due for an upgrade, but I used my last NE2 when my son purchased a droid in June and I gave him my NE2 discount so I know I didn't have that. (I thought the NE2 discount was always $100, no?) When I first pulled this phone up on my screen to purchase it was $249 with a new 2-year contract. Once I put it in my cart it then showed it as $199 with a $50 discount. I assumed the discount was an online discount. They often give discounts for purchasing online that you don't get in the store.

Mine was $199 with 2 year extension, didn't have the NE2 upgrade available. Ordered at midnight, not sure if it was glitch or not.
