Mine seems white to me, though there is colour bleed on the primary keys,
I hate that the send and receive are not green and red respectively

Yeah.. that would make it look more 'real' if it were color coordinated

yes, you are right it is purple. i had 5 of them they are all purple. older berries are either white, or yellow like the 9780 (yuck). finally glad they switched to nicer back lighting. anyone that has a macbook pro, check your keyboard lighting its the same color, very purple.

All the videos I've seen have a purplish tint to the keyboard backlight. I think it looks great, very classy.

I believe the colour is more scientifically known as...unicorn.

Love it. And when you look at the trackpad with the chrome edging like every other trackpad, and then it lights up?

RIM pulled off some major wizardry with this design.

Oh and the small circular LED notifier doesn't suck! They fixed it. Was worried about going away from the 'bar' style one on my 9780

No ones complaining about the backlight... I just had no idea that it wasn't supposed to be white so I was just making sure.

I think it looks a bit blue-ish compared the really white 9000 backlight. I hope people do not start using magnifying glasses and start complaining of the plastic grain. Purple, blue, unicorn, tie dye, who cares. As long as its bright and usable at night I won't care!
