Why is Sprint Behind the Ball on releasing these phones. I read that Roger's Phones are going to start selling on the 12th ? I thought Sprint was the "Leader in Blackberry's"........ Can anyone enlighten me please ?

I'm sure you are more than likely referring to the Torch 9850, not 9810. I wish Sprint would get a 9810, but there is no proof of a 9810 CDMA device ever coming out. Also, some Rogers have already been selling the phones as you can see on the CB main page with Kevin's un-boxing video, but the official date is today for Rogers and Telus is the 12th. Hopefully Sprint and the rest of the US carriers get some love within the next week or so.

I am hoping for at latest the 21st which everything is pointing to that point, but if they have it priced at 250, I will hold off until the price drops. I have already waited a full year with my upgrade from my 8330, and it is still getting the job done, so I will have no problem holding off if they put that price tag on it.

I went into a Sprint store to get my Style replaced (it randomly froze/died on me after only 3 months), and while I was there asked the guy about the Bold touch. He said confidently and without hesitation they will have them on the 21st. So either he drinks the koolaid and reads the rumor mill like all of us, or maybe Sprint is really going to release on that date.

I called one of their stores (on Lex Ave in Manhattan) and the csr told me they haven't yet started training on any new BBs and that release will be later this yer. I hope Sprint will not pull another Motorola DroidPro/XPRT and release these phones one year after being announced. On a brighter note, a Sprint csr I contacted using the Sprint Chat function online said they started training and should come out soon. Others, yet, said last week of Aug or first week of Sept. Well, this is all I know so far...any new info is more than welcomed!!! Stay strong Sprint crackberry fans, we'll get our fix soon!!!

Just found this off a google search don't know how much truth is it in but to me it looks legit. Sprint won�t be getting new BlackBerry 7 Smartphones until fall�

Check the main CB page, some Sprint adds were discovered yesterday confirming the pricing and release dates for the 9930 at $249.99 and 9850 at $149.99. Both set to release August 21st.

Sprint's leaked road maps always pointed to Aug 21st and still do.....I dont know where that press release came up with "Later this fall"....

The newest leaks showing the pricing still says Aug 21 and that's not "Later this fall" to me....Must've been a typo

I don't think it was a typo because when Sprint's Twitter and FB accounts posted the link, they specified Fall. My guess would be that they wanted to say Fall and be able to be like, "Hey we got it out before we told you that we would." Or they just wanted to be safe rather than commit to an earlier time frame and have an issue with testing or actual supply.

I spoke with a rep over the phone last Thursday and she said that she received an e-mail that confirmed the release of the 9930 and 9850 on the 21st.
