Just tried to upgrade to the new 9900 and Vodafones systems are not even updated with the Bold to Pre-order! They said there's nothing on the system yet & I'd have to wait till 12pm for them to call me back as they think it will be on there then :/ Still, least I'll be going to the office on a high today in excitement also try get my boss to upgrade our old and very slow Curves!

I just called them and they had a sh*tfit! Said they weren't supposed to be on pre-order yet and they have nothing in their system to support that delivery date. A sense of chaos pervades, not helped by the guy who heads up their BB team saying he isn't expecting to send them out to fit that delivery date and has no date for their arrival yet. Don't get too excited yet...

I ordered the 9900 from Carphone Warehouse on a Vodafone tariff and the guy on the phone assured me it would arrive on the 12th. I'm pretty worried now that all these dates are getting thrown about since I go on holiday on the 14th.

It may say that, but it's wrong... the 9900 is all focus (EDoF)

I went into Vodafone store in Westfields today, and the technician said the pre-order page was up and running since 3am. However, they were unable to actually pre-order when it came to it. I was told to keep checking today, eventually went to Carphone Warehouse who were expecting it sooner than Vodafone directly, 12th August. Managed to get a good deal with Carphone Warehouse and expecting my phone in a few days

Yeah the handset price is 50 cheaper with Carphone Warehouse for the 36p/m 12 month deal, but with Vodafone you get 2GB BT Openzone Wi-Fi.

Also noticed that Vodafone label the 500MB data as "mobile data" whereas on the Carphone Warehouse site it's "Blackberry Data". Are those the same things?

Yeah I'm pretty sure they are the same thing. I'm quite content on the 31 a month, 24 month contract. I'm currently on Orange, and still have 14 months to pay. So instead of paying 500 sim-free for the Bold 9900 and put my current orange sim in there, I decided to go with Vodafone on contract for cheaper than orange (and much better signal) and terminate my current Orange contract for 380!

That's not bad. I'm still not sure who I'm going with yet, either the 12 month 36 contract on Vodafone, or PAYG on 3 where the handset is 449 and I'll just keep on doing the 15 add-on that gives you 300 minutes, 3000 texts and unlimited data every 30 days.

All depends on who has the better network coverage in my are and whether I'll need the unlimited data. Either way, I'll probably phone up Tesco Mobile tomorrow for my PAC code.
