I was looking at pictures/video of the keyboard on the Torch 9850/9860, and it always shows a full qwerty keyboard on portrait mode. Will it also have the reduced keyboard like the Storm?

I'm hoping that it does because that's what I've always used. If not, then I might go for the Bold 9930.

I'm not sure. Who here can confirm there is a suretype keyboard on the torch?

From the BlackBerry Torch spec page:

On screen keyboard: portrait SureType, QWERTY and multitap, landscape QWERTY

    BlackBerry - BlackBerry Torch 9850 & Torch 9860 - BlackBerry 9850 - BlackBerry 9860 - US

I totally agree. The only thing that always ticks me off on sure type is typing "see" vs "are". They are the same keystroke and it never picks the right one for me. Then, of course, names that aren't on your contact list or autotext.

I can are where that would be a problem. I hope they see working on it.

SureType is one of the only things that would be hard to give up going with another BlackBerry (or another smartphone period). Loved it on the Pearl, needed more real estate for a screen & got the Storm 2. Still on the fence with it, as it doesn't have NFC (might be a big deal in the future) and it only has 4GB eMMC, as opposed to the 9900's 8GB. But I digress...

Looking forward to playing with this phone when it comes to VZW.

It is an option you can pick while using the portrait mode. You can have either keyboard as you wish.

You have two options for "Portrait Keyboard Type".

    Reduced and Full.
