- Went in to o2 shop yesterday and had a good chat with a o2 Guru who has been there for a while and he said the RIM rep had brought in the 9900 a few times and he has had a play with it. MY FIRST QUESTION WAS WHY WAS I NOT THERE!!!!!........Anyway he said yes, was super fast and looks fantastic....asked about the sim fre price and pretty certain is will be 499 so that original 399 price that was seen floating around here then forget it........also he said for anyone interested in buying out their existing contract to get the new 9900 for FREE then you can do that in store as from the next 2 weeks which means I have about 100 to pay as a buy out and then will continue on my existing plan and get the 9900 for free. Same a s normal the higher the tariff then it will be free so a 47 fully loaded tariff on 02 will get you it free.
Anyway he said it will be here for certain in 2/3 weeks and not later......let's just roll with it07-30-11 04:11 AMLike 0 -
This guy is talking rubbish. He is just copying what other members seem to always say on every new thread! "not real proof", "they don't know what they are talking about", "this guy knows no more than the next guy, or the guy before".
You are wrong. it's most likely that this device will now launch in the UK within 2-3 weeks. and believe it or not, some people actually know this for sure and have an accurate date.
You or I don't, at all. but I think RIM would not be even in the state that they are in now if they had no clue about the release of their own device. rim would be in a pretty pathetic state. and this may come also as a shock to you, if you can believe this.... rim are actually talking to carriers about the release... because.. you know, carriers release them and all...'carriers are the main sellers and offer the contracts.
please don't just copy others, and use you're own brain. of course people know the release time frame! I wouldn't mind betting carriers like vodafone and O2 have an exact date penciled in. but, of course will not say anything until this date can be verified and validated. that is when they will then announce publicly an official date.07-30-11 08:55 PMLike 0 - I will tell you something concrete for O2 - the device hasn't passed carrier testing yet, so I would not count on August at all.07-30-11 10:07 PMLike 0
- Oh and Vodafone UK never put exact dates out, the retail stores have them, although they're not worth the paper they're written on. Normally internally stuff is kept to months for release and even then 50-60% of release dates slipped in 2010, food for thought, even internally from network to distribution to manufacturer - no one really has an exact date.07-30-11 10:16 PMLike 0
- It's not a problem to get it from other carrier that will release it faster and get it unlocked to work with O2 SIM card.07-31-11 08:47 AMLike 0
