the most efficient way is to physically call t mobile and have them change the IMEI and PIN.

Just put your old sim in your new phone and the phone will take care of the rest. If you back up your BBM contacts to your SD card or remotely via email, all of your BBM contacts will automatically update.

Also, when you access the email setup through the phone, it will transfer your email addresses to your new device.
