Hey all, I bought the Torch back in December from Amazon for 412, obviously since then it has dropped to a median price of around 349. What do you think will be the price of the Torch 2? Will it start at a similar price, more, less? What is the general trend for BB's? I'm talking about unlocked to all carriers

    Thanks
    Darren

That's a good question considering most of all new phones will cost about $400. Unless the Torch 2 won't be using 4G. If no 4G then it should be maybe an extra $50 dollars from the recent Torch's price

So would that translate in ? Roughly 30 extra?

They should give a free upgrade to current Torch owners for sticking it out with them!

Free would be nice. Waiving the upgrade requirements by AT&T like they did with the iPhone would be the next best thing. My guess is $199 or 121 GBP for a 2 year contract and $499 to $599 or 304 to 365 GBP for no contract pricing.

$500 is a bit steep especially for a RIM device

It is just a guess for launch pricing. It may be steep so a couple of hundred lower at best for no contract pricing.

Right now AT&T has no contract T1 pricing at $399, almost a year after launch so a range of $399 - $499 is not out of the norm at launch.

I've just checked Amazon and the white BB Torch which was 440 earlier this month went to 379.99 and just now I have seen it and it is 369.30. Torch 2 release imminent?

The release date for Torch 2 is anybody's guess. Most are guessing the middle of August. But remember, those are guesses.

CBK's guess is probably better than most as he has recently tweeted August 15th.

AT&T should give me a free Torch 2 just because I have been with them since I've been with them since 1992. Oh - and because I've stuck it out with them with this first Torch.

    Peace...

Good luck. I have been with AT&T since 1995. Just being able to upgrade every year is nice instead of waiting 21 months.
