Hey...I just got a blackberry 8520 today with no data plan(I'll be getting one in a week with a small gsm provider) so I've been trying to get my wifi working. It comes on sometimes, albeit incredibly slower than my actual network speed, but it dips out a lot. Any possible help? I see the blackberry is very dependent on a data plan, would the lack of that affect my wifi signal? I connected it to my wifi through the "push to connect" option through the blackberry, would that change something? Thanks for any help.

Unfortunately you do need a data plan to retain your Wi-Fi connection.

Using the "push to connect" option doesn't change anything, that's just a more secure way for you to connect to your router/modem.
