My wife and I have the same problem. We both have AirTel (India) connection service and are currently traveling in the Middle East. All was working fine till Monday night (June 6th). Can surfe the net through WIFI, but not BIS service through WIFI. It works if I connect to the local network through EDGE however. Anyone have a fix please let me know......
Got o2 & Orange Blackberry's and both have "connecting: Error" status messages in the wifi menu. Have tried two other ISP's but same issue.
Anyone else got this problem?
I'm in Spain with Movistar and have been having the same problem for the past 2 or 3 days. I thought it was carrier related and so I called them and argued with them for about an hour over this issue.
BIS over WIFI seems to be down. Maybe it's the redirected website. When I go to WIFI diagnostics I can see under "BB Infrastructure" that there is a box with an X next to "connecting". Address used 193.109.81.88:443 Maybe this is a European-wide problem.
Is yours still not working? Can I confirm that you are all getting the same problems with no BBmessenger over WIFI and the BB icon not dropping down next to the WIFI antenna?
There's thousands of us apparently. It would seem that RIM have acknowledged the problem and are working on it but it's taking them long enough. Dammed annoying.
This seems to be working again now over wifi, only noticed this a few hours ago so could have been fixed much earlier ! Is it working for everybody else ?

Yes, its back up for the majority of people however it still seems like a few people may be suffering.
