I tried to add contacts on BBM by inputting the pins. They say they are pending but the contacts haven't recieved them. One of my friends who has a BB curve said that on hers it should tell me when someone has tried to add me but it doesn't. I'm getting extremely frustrated. HELP. also, it won't allow me to add an emaill account or use the facebook app which was already on my menu when i got the phone. HELP

Take the back off abd take out the battery for a few seconds and then put it back in.

If you do not have a data plan you can not use BBM sorry.

...but are you using the Mobile Network or Wifi?
Turn off the phone Wifi and see if you can still use the internet browser.
Does BB App World or email work without having WiFi enabled?

yes app world works on mobile network

You should check that you have a Blackberry specific data plan as Facebook, BBM ect. will not work without that. It sounds like the problem in your case.

Check your phone in the top right hand corner of the screen.

If it says GPRS or 3G (with the BB logo) then that would tend to indicate you have a correct BB data plan and should expect BBM to work.

If it says gprs or 3g then that would tend to indicate your data plan is not a Blackberry data plan.

Alternatively, turn off wi-fi and then check the service status. On an OS6 phone that it done by clicking the banner at the top of the home screen, then click service status. First will be mobile voice, this should show your number, status and connection. Next will be Blackberry internet service. With Wi-fi turned off this should say Mobile Network.

If your Blackberry internet service isn't connected then you need to ask your Mum about your data plan and maybe get her to speak to your carrier to either chase why it's not working or add it to the account if necessary.

Somethings on the Blackberry will work without a data plan but most won't. Blackberry Messenger works on the device PIN and through RIM's servers so if you don't have a Blackberry data plan then BBM will not work.

It may be your carrier transferred over your data plan but didn't set you up for a BB plan. That can happen when you go from a non-BlackBerry phone to a BlackBerry one.
