Just a quick FYI--Many people are eligible for employee discounts on their accounts but don't know it. Even if your employer is a small company it doesn't hurt to check. I sold a Curve to a local landscaper and he got it for $4.46, weird. Either call Customer Care, go on the website or come into any Direct store. We'll need either your work email address or proof of employment (ID with company name and your name or a pay stub).
FYI--I posted this under the Verizon Wireless forum, only cause I work there and have service with them. Not sure if this applies to other carriers but I am sure of it.
Your price plan is not eligible for a monthly access discount. However, you are eligible to receive discounts through your company's Employee Discount Program.
Simply login to My Verizon and you may qualify for discounts when you:
* Upgrade to a new phone
* Add a new wireless line to your account
* Add features to your account
* Purchase accessories
ya i got the military discount with att saves me about 30 a month on my two lines. thanks for the heads up. most people do not know that the providers offer discounts. school, company, and military discounts are usually available.
Thanks for the info, I just called verizon about my small business. I said I wanted to get a phone that is not out yet. Thunder. She was very nice and said the loyalty dept. would help me when the phone is priced. They do try and help you when you ask.

Discounts come off the voice AND data plans.

I'm on an older plan but did get a discount on the 8830 and on my PHONE service. I do NOT get any discount on the BB Data service!
Device discounts are hit and miss. Example they refused to discount my Pearl when I asked saying we only get monthly service plan discounts and not on device purchases and then two weeks later gave me an additional $45 dollars off my Curve under the employee discount.
Whatever the case I'm pretty happy. The 22% discount is enough to cover the $29 BIS on my monthly bill
