Is your wi-fi connection quick to begin with? (like Cable?)

If your wi-fi connection is slow then yeah it's going to run slower than EV-DO but I agree somewhat that the Wi-fi chip on the Bold 9650 is not the best because when downloading files from my N router with a cable connection I've gotten fluctuating speeds whereas my PC can get a solid high download rate.

Does it matter what your OS is for wifi speed?? I thought wifi speed was determined by internet connection.

Buffer is a big issue in BlackBerries. Not a problem on Android/iOS.

Wi-Fi works great for email. Not so much for browsing.

Yes, the OS will have some influence on the wifi connection. Some of the earlier OSs were not able to hold a connection or even pick up the wifi. I would guess this would also influence the stability of the connection once it is made. 524 seams to hold a good solid connection.

Yup, 431 has wifi issues. 436 & 524 resolve them.

Hummmm, the .415 seems to be doing a pretty good job at the moment, I don't have to use wifi on a regular (good reception in my area) but I will pay more attention. I might have to......"UPDATE"....

415 really isn't an issue in this thread, the OP is on 431.

Yes, I missed #5, thanks for correcting me, but I was more or less commenting on wifi vs. os. I thought it was obvious that I was confused about wifi being affected due to the os, therefor stating I was not sure about that, because the .415 that I'm running on my 9650 isn't being affected. I have stability with .415
