I recently replaced me pearl 3g for the torch and love it.. My pearl was giving me some problem and it was so small for a blackberry so I wanted to get something different and with a big screen and touch so I got the torch still a blackberry but love this phone..
What phone did u have before the torch? And why did u decide to get a torch?

I had a palm pre. I got the torch for the simple fact it had a keyboard that slides out from the bottom. That's the only reason. Bbm is one of the only reasons that have kept me here.

Love a touchscreen for navigation(actually liked my first gen iphone until i realized how much I hate itunes) and the simplicity and the "get er done" no non sense that BB is, so a torch was a logical choice. Didn't care for the vertical slider at first, but it's grown on me.
before that - LG Chocolate, Motorola v710, LG 5450, (first samsung telus flip phone), Nokia 8290, Nokia 5190
if anoyone can remember the model of TELUS's frist Silver samsung flip phone, with the screen on the front as well, no cameraa, no color screen, blue backlight, let me know
Torch, Bold 9700, 8700c, two crappy Motorola flip phones, and a Sidekick (only for data use), and my very first phone was a Nokia (can't remember the model #). :]

I had a G1 as my main phone and played around with a curve 8320 and fell in love with instant emails, Bbm, etc. I got the torch for the virtual and real keyboard.

Went from a 8820 to 9000 to 9800 within 6 months. My 9000 was a recycled enterprise phone so there were a few things that I couldn't get unlocked, mostly being unable to use TetherBridge. Got the 9800 free thru my job, had to lock in for two yrs more with ATT though (only downside LOL.)
Liked the meatier 9000 better for a while but am getting more comfortable and proficient with the 9800 so I can say that now I'm luvvin it :>)
I had the Curve 8530,
I wasn't planning on getting the Torch until December, but the charging unit came out of my phone and it was cheaper for me to upgrade then get the phone fixed since I didn't have the insurance on it. Put the insurance back on this phone though!
Pearl, 8310, Bold 9000, Torch...
Went to the Torch for the larger screen (better ability to see Docs to Go, Movies, eBooks,etc.). Didn't expect to like the touchscreen so well. Now, as many others, I have evolved into using both touch and keypad. I'm a Hybrid.
I came from a Curve 8330 and I switched because my trackBALL would always stick when scrolling up. It would never stick in any other direction. Also, I dropped it from not even 2 feet, onto a carpet and the screen cracked. So I decided for the latest BlackBerry that was out at that time.
I had the Bold. It was a great phone and took a lot of abuse. I love the Torch...however; I love it even better now since I moved it over to T-Moblie. AT&T doesnt support UMA (Unlicensed Mobile Access) and T-Mobile does. Meaning I use the WiFi for everything now and turn the Cell radio and bluetooth off to save battery life while i'm at home or in the office. I can send and recieve phone calls and use the internet all at the same time and all on WiFi. Yes the phone calls are going through thre internet. (VoIP) UMA works great in the office since the Cell signal sucks there.

I was wondering how u make it UMA so that u can use everything with wifi? That sounds cool

I came from a Curve 8310. What an example of progress the change from 8310 to 9800. I am really pleased with the slide out keypad and the touch screen as well as the browser speed. I am envious of DaleRox and those who can use UMA. I use WiFi at home and have WiFi manager on the BB with about 15 hotspots. I am an executive in a VOIP company and could make and receive calls through our system if I had UMA. Hmmm ???? Now if we were our own ISP ..... yah right.
My first smartphone was a Curve 8300 > iphone 3GS > Torch 9800
Loved the curve (first to do email, internet, etc. so I was estatic) and it could take all the abuse. The iphone was quite lovely at first but I missed push email, the customization, more variations for settings, etc. Wonderful phone on a lot of things but I missed my bb. After a year, I decided to go for a Torch even though my contract wasn't up and I love, love , love it!
My previous phone was a Curve 8310. Loved that phone, but love the Torch more. As an IT tech, I support a lot of mobile phones for clients, so I've been involved with them since the RIM 950 days.
Nokia E71, torch beats that one but i'll get an iphone as soon as my contract is over. (Pretty sure i'll miss bbm tho :/ )
Yeah before I had an iphone and thought it was a really good phone and they have good games on iphone but I missed the bbm and right when my iphone got stolen I went straight back to a blackberry
