I installed it and it is very very snappy!! Battery life is great too! Meter Berry reporting 0.9 - 1% discharge rate when it's idle and 2% at max usage!!!

i would find it hard to believe you can see only 2% discharge at max use. not to mention, judging battery life this soon.

i put it in apploader, it does appear to be 6.0.0.570

also, the radio file is updated to 6.6.0.212 from 6.6.0.207

just finished loading the OS, it is showing .570. im downloding BBM again and the new BIS app. ill report back findings later. so far i see the alarm clock in the drop down menu is still out of alignment.

so far boot ups seem faster than .546. its still laggy in general as im waiting for things to fully load and theres alot of data in and out.

after the email setup updated, it took me like 30 mins before i could finally get the service books to go through. you may need to log back into and edit each email address again with the password. once i did that, the service books all came through.

One thing I noticed which is not a major thing.

When you press the menu button, instead of seeing your icons, you get a black blank screen, no matter what theme you are using. then hit back, then menu again, and it's fixed.

This only happens the first time after a battery pull, then never happens again, which is why I am saying it is not a big thing.

Another thing is, the browser zoom level on the CB forums is now perfectly zoomed! Not too large so you have to zoom out to see the page, and not to tiny like the previous zoom level introduced since 480

This has the perfect zoom and the browser's speed is fast, just like 546

Battery life still 1.6-2% per hour with light usage. And we're only in the first few hours of installing!

Mind you, I did 5 physical battery pulls

Here's my short-version OS install guide if anyone needs a refresher...

    ELITE1's Quick OS6 UPGRADE GUIDE

    1. (Optional) Uninstall any previous OS from your PC.
    2. Download OS to PC. Use Internet Explorer to do so, not Firefox or Chrome. (For leaked versions, the browser is irrelevant though.)
    3. Following successful DL, run OS file to install OS on PC.
    4. On BB, go to BBM Options, scroll down to Backup section. Ensure Remote Backup is enabled AND also conduct a Local Backup to media card.
    5. Go through any 3rd party apps that have option to save settings to media card, and conduct Backup to media card from menu within each of these apps. (Examples: all Bellshare apps such as BerryBuzz & BerryWeather; QuickLaunch; Shao's apps such as Wallpaper Changer & SixTools; Show Me The Images; etc).
    6. Connect BB to PC. Open DM and backup device. Close DM.
    7. (Optional) Use desktop program like BBSAK or BBMCP to backup 3rd party apps.
    8. On PC, navigate to
64-bit: Computer/C:/Program Files (x86)/Common Files/Research In Motion/AppLoader and delete file therein called Vendor.
      32-bit: Computer/C:/Program Files/Common Files/Research In Motion/AppLoader and delete file therein called Vendor.
    9. (Optional/Recommended) Run BB Boss or Shrink-A-OS/BBHybrids Tool.
    10. In same AppLoader file where you deleted Vendor, double-click on Loader to initiate OS upgrade. Follow onscreen instructions.

PS I've posted this before in other threads, but there always seems to be some people that appreciate a step-by-step each time.

Yes this appears to be a 570 problem. It's the same with 570 for Torch, so there's obviously some new common element to blame.

I guess this is only with third party themes, since the stock BB6 theme doesn't have an app screen.

Does it still lag for a few seconds on closing certain apps like Opera Mini, like .546 did?
