- It's been about a month since .534 came out. Anyone think we'll see a new OS 6 leak for the 9700 anytime soon? .526 had a pretty big memory leak for me when I tried it. I started off with 113MB and was at 90 within an hour. Used BB Boss to shrink. Just wondering if anyone knows the cycle of OS leaks?

To save space all you need to do is delete the media and fonts .cod files.05-06-11 08:56 PMLike 0 - Was prompted to install 6.0 on my Bold this morning. WOW! What a change to the UI!! Will take some getting used to. I don't play brick breaker that often, but I'm VERY disappointed that you can't just exit the game and have it pause automatically. You now have to switch apps. Otherwise, you will exit the game and have to start a new game next time you launch.05-07-11 12:41 PMLike 0

It is well documented that OS6 has a memory leak problem, some versions being better than others. One of the big reasons behind the "leakage" is because of the web browser and universal search integration. They both cache and index things on your phone for faster access to the information when you use universal search and browse the web. I run a BB Boss shrunk .534 and it leaks down approx. 15mb and then stabilizes.05-09-11 02:56 PMLike 0 - I can personally assure you that BB Boss is not the reason for the memory leaks.

If the web browser and universal search were the cause, then all OS6 devices would be suffering... and they're not.
It's the device itself that's causing the leak. The 9700 just can't handle OS6, period.
15mb is a ridiculous amount of leakage! I'd be concerned if my 9780 leaked 1mb

I don't pretent my 9700 is a desktop computer so I don't go to full websites and get the 'page too large' error...abdullah1982 likes this.05-09-11 03:32 PMLike 1 - I have been having severe "freezing" issues with OS6 since 424, which I think is related to the device storage memory becoming full, as I am prompted to delete apps.
I recently went back to 418 and find the battery drop issue easier to live with than my phone being unresponsive for minutes at a time.
I'm looking forward to upgrading to the 9900, and OS705-11-11 08:13 AMLike 0 - This is probably a stupid question, can i put that taiwan mobile release on my 9700 even though im on orange? the previous OS that was leaked says theres an error when i try fire it up05-12-11 02:22 PMLike 0

Please follow the instructions I left on the 1st Page of that thread, and you'll be golden.Fatality292 likes this.05-12-11 02:40 PMLike 1 - My 9700 can handle OS6, bit of 6.1 and I don't get site too large errors pfft. And no leak, I pay for what I use. I am a real user of the BB with 9 emails facebook, foursquare, browsing, reading the bible at church, twitter with good followers/following numbers....
I use to accuse apple of incremental upgrades with their iphone 3gs to iphone4, but I am cursing RIM of the same. Until they come with a dual core, I will be sticking to the 9700 and a hybrid of course.05-14-11 11:31 PMLike 0 -

Posted from my CrackBerry at wapforums.crackberry.com05-15-11 10:27 AMLike 0 - There are so many official 6.0.0.534's now.
I think BlackBerry are taking a break from developing new software but never the less. Waiting for a new leak. Shouldn't be far away as there was one that was released last week for the Torch. So we should be expecting soon.
