Replacement for my Torch. I went from the 9000 > 9700 > 9800. 9900 is the obvious next device! I still use my 9700 for work, 9800 for personal. I find the 9800 to be slow and this is the answer to my prayers.
All the time I thought that difference between 9900 and 9930 is one having GSM and other don't. But both have GSM band. But after reading this thread I am confused. So... is there any technical differences between the two?
Is one is better than the other? Sorry for asking dumb questions, I am confused about the two versions.

Both have the same specs, except for the different radios.
If your carrier is GSM (TMO, AT&T etc) then the 9900 is for you.
If your carrier is CDMA (Verizon, Sprint etc) then the 9930 is for you
It's as simple as that

The 9900 is GSM only, the 9930 is CDMA primarily with GSM for international roaming.

One more Phil... you've said that the 9930 is CDMA with GSM... then does this mean that anyone can use 9930 even if their carrier is GSM only? Thanks again.

You could if you were in Europe, but you wouldn't get HSPA+ in the US.
The 9930 is only Dual-Band HSPA+ which is fine for Europe, compared to the Tri-Band 9900 needed for HSPA+ in the States.
