    I just want to be able to use a full-featured pdf reader as a start - one that can find/search for a word, jump to a page, etc. Adding creation would be an additional benefit.

    I hope Adobe is working on a PDF Creator application for the Playbook. They just recently released a version for iOS devices.

    Nitro PDF has this online service, Primo PDF

    You send them a file, they email you the pdf
