LOL, I know i must sound like a "freak", but i couldn't help but notice the rubber backing smelled kinda like new sneakers. The PB certainly has a nice quality feel to it anyway and the size is perfect.

That sweet new tire rubber smell is from the free case that comes with the PlayBook.
I kinda like it.
It's probably toxic and causes cancer but then again what doesn't these days.

I put my playbook back in its sleeve and put it to charge about 20 minutes ago at the other end of the room about 25 feet away, and I can still smell it. (It doesn't smell bad, but I just can "smell" it.)

Hey, nobody said anything about TV remotes. Although I do love the smell of brand new TV remotes, they got that perfect blend of rubber on buttons and solder on the board inside. After Kramer's "Ocean" maybe we can create a cologne that smells like brand new electronics and call it "unboxed".
