    I am visiting in the states and where I am in the desert I can only get 2g service. It isn't with my regular carrier as I am usually with bell and roaming on AT&T 2g. When I go to service options it says BIS is not connected and obviously BBM isn't sending messages. Normal?

    My BBM and such work on my EDGE network. I've never actually seen 2G pop up on my network status.

    You won't. Edge IS 2g. If yours works, I guess I have some searching to do.

    Ok, works now. I needed to reset the phone or pull the battery. It worked after.
