OS 6.1 is another attempt to impress former bb fans...
i think its build for different hardware... real graphic intensive hardware not like text mode current BB's.
so don't even dare to dream about it.
and it will released in next year spring (2012)...
you know how quick RIM is?
I hope so but given the squeeze they put on OS6 to make it fit 256Mb devices like the 9700, and the tricks we go to get enough memory to run our apps, if 6.1 is much bigger than 6.0, then the 9700 may be out of luck.
The 9780 should be good to go so long as OS6.1 is not QNX based as has been mooted within CrackBerry. If that is the case then we will all need phone with dual core processors. Sticking my neck out, I do not believe this. At the very least, I anticipate OS6.1 to run on current 512Mb devices. Any more than that will be a real bonus.
Wait until official news gets announced. Likely, it will run on the 9780 or 9800. Anything with 512/512 or 786/786 (RAM/EPROM aka Flash ROM). Follow everything blackberry on twitter to keep up with the news.

yes, and ALL models that currently support os 6 will at least get os 6.1 LITE, how do I know common sense, they acknowldged the homescreen panes was a ****ty idea which they corrected on 6.1 by giving users the option to manage the homescreen panes so sure they wont leave us out in the cold.
now what will be the difference between 6.1 lite and 6.1 full/evolution? only RIM knows.
one can only hope 6.1 lite also includes wifi hotspot
