I use a Nokia 5230 currently. Am planning to get a Curve 3G today.
I have seen many instances of the trackpad not responding properly. So I wanted to ask whether the problem has been fixed by RIM or not?
If not, then should I buy the curve 8520? Is it good? Does it have any known problems or bugs?
Please reply
P.S.- I am from India BTW...

I have had my 9300 for nearly 6 months and can honestly say I have had no problems with the trackpad and I personally haven't heard anyone else with issues.
Posted from my CrackBerry at wapforums.crackberry.com
I have tried 3 different Curve 3Gs at the stores and they all had that glitchy trackpad which doesn't respond at times and is not as smooth as the 8520 / Bold Trackpad.
I had a 8520 before this Bold and it was perfect! its trackpad never gave me any problems and was very smooth. And it's cheaper it has the same camera, the only thing u will miss is the 3G speed though and the OS 6 support.
I was fishing for a gift for my best friend 2 weeks back and I tried many Curve 3Gs as they were cheap in price....i ended up paying double the price for a Bold 9780 as I wanted to get him something good
just my 2 cents....who knows you MAY get a unit that is not having this problem.
Just make sure to test it extensively at the store and ensure you move both up and down and right and left for a few minutes not just a short test
I use my Curve 9300 for 6 weeks now, love that BB experience and play around a lot with my Curve, exploring the cool multitasking capability other iDevices lack off.
For me the trackpad, the battery life - concerns for many others - is absolutely no issue on my side, trackpad is smooth and responsive as one would expect from a quality device and the battery life is far better than any iDevice I have used in the past
The Curve 3G is the best ever purchase I have made in regard to smart phones
if you have the money for a 9780 go for it
i dont have a 9700 because i cant pay it here in mexico is too expensive
but i love my 9300 is really good and i dont have any issues with trackpad or anything
I use my 9300 for a while 2-3 months and I dont have any issue with trck pad or what, my friend has 8520 and i had played on my 8520 's friend trackpad respons is the same
