    Hey People.

I need some help trying to remove the EMI/RF shielding on this Blackberry 9700 PCB board. The Shielding is soldered down to the motherboard and it has no clips so I cannot remove it easily.

I was thinking heat gun but I hear that does damage to the copper wiring within the PCB board

If any one has any suggestions please post or even better post a video.

I posted a video on you tube check it out.

I don't think it'll be an easy task removing it without damaging one or more chips or parts of the circuitry. It's likely not RF shielding, but ESD shielding to prevent damage to the chips when pulling the battery out, replacing the sim.

Just curious- why do you want to pull the shielding out? (Not sure if you said in the video because my phone wouldn't load it)

Because I want to get to the IC's (integrated circuits) I think the processor needs to be reballed.
