I am really hoping that there are dual speakers on the Dakota just like on the 9000. IMO the single speaker on the 9700 is great, but just imagine two of them bad boys on the Dakota!

I didn't know the 9000 had dual loudspeakers... that's awesome. Stereo playback? I would die to have that. Yes, let's do pray that the Bold Touch has stereo speakers!!!!!! Most useful post I've seen in this forum!

I don't know if they'll have enough room ... It is a bit thinner than the original 9k. It would certainly help to have dual speakers for the handsfree voice quality though.

Actually the 9000 had 3 music speakers, one at the top and a speaker on each side of the phone. Would love for the Dakota/Montana to be similarly equipped.

thats the one thing i miss the most about my old 9000 is the speakers. i went to a 9700 and then to a torch and to me the sound quality on music and ringtones are just crap compared to the 9000. keeping my fingers crossed for some decent sound coming out of the new one, havent been able to find any info on it though

if the dakota fails to have the dual speakers. then in my opinion rim just blew it. the 9700 and torch have terrible speakers. you can barely hear the other person when using a 9700. a lot of congestion. the torch has the same poor sound clarity. if rim wants to stay in the game, then equip your flagship with 3 monster speakers. this will pay dividend for loyal blackberry users.

Not a speakerphone user (it's annoying to talk to anyone using one), but I listen to a lot of podcasts using just the speakers on the 9780...not terrible but would LOVE if the 9900 had dual speakers.

Completely agree, the speakers and the keyboard were the best on any phone I have ever used. I have actually thought about going back at times, but I would miss the touch screen.
