i have a 8900, which had a broken screen for ages. I"ve fixed it now, and the software on it is 5.0.0.681 which i have found out, fortunately to be one of the best, according to the forums. its much smoother than my 9780.
So, i don't want to change it. But i do want chinese letters, and writing ability on it.
how do i do that?

any help would be greatly appreciated.

You can download an East Asian version and extracts the font file from it. I have the files, but i can only read Chinese but can't write.

hi, you can try to download from here the CJK font support write and read, download it from your phone OTA. hope this help (im suggest u download this using wifi because the size is pretty big)

I looked at the page, if my 8900 uses 4.6, should I download the 8900 link (seems to be for OS5) or 8300,etc which is for 4.5?

no, u cant, thats download link is only for 8900 running os5, and the 8300 is only for the os 4.5 will not compatible with your os, so if u running 8900 with os 4.6 i suggest u upgrade your device to os 5 or download the font support from here:
http://www.berryindo.com/blackberry-font-support-download-ota/ (i belive this is READ only font support)
