Can anyone tell me what the data plan will be for the Verizon IPhone will be. Can I still have the 29.99 plan that I have now. Or will Verizon nickle and dime me to death with other fees like wireless hot spot fees. These answers will affect a lot of people weather to buy IPhone or go to Droid unless the data plan will be the same for Droid. Anyone have any thoughts?

This has already been announced. It's right on their website. $29.99 for unlimited data. $20 for 3G mobile hotspot if you want to use it. The $29.99 is listed as a promo pricing that could end at any time.

Typical Verizon. Bleed you to death. Why charge 20.00 for mobile hotspot?
Can't Verizon ever give consumers a break especially in this economy.

iPhone and Android phones use the same data plan and same mobile hot spot.

Both can be jailbroken and rooted, respectively, to get you wifi for free as well.

Hate to leave the world of Blackberry, but I'm heading in that direction. Rimm just lags way too behind.

Why can't the gas companies just keep the price down? Especially in this economy. Can't they just give us a break?

Get real vatothe0. What a lousy comeback. Comparing the gas company to Verizon. Not even close.

You're right. Verizon does customer friendly things. Has companies don't

The only thing new about the $20 surcharge is that it's available on the iPhone. You would be charged the same thing for BB or Android tethering.

You're right. The gas companies' profits individually and collectively far outweigh the profits at Verizon and the wireless industry. And the gas prices have a direct and measurable effect on the economy, whereas cellular phone, service, and data prices do not.
