(yes i have read other forums)
I have recently bought a new 32gb micro sd. It is not one of the fake ones as I did previously get one of those and this problem is different. Whenever I put music on it seems to work but when I unplug my blackberry torch from my laptop it says that a faulty memory card has been enterred would you like to repair it. If i repair it it takes ages and then fails. I can then format it and it seems to work until I put music on it again. Could I please have some help. Thanks in advance

I am also having this problem. The 32gb card is fine and I can record video/pictures to it and transfer movies but syncing the music files w/ itunes creates the "media card needs to be repaired" message. The card is not functional after this. All of the music files I'm attempting to sync are DRM free. I've formatted it in my pc/camera/torch and enable/disabled compression, but no luck so far.

Is it worth it to try a 16 gig (or some other size) for troubleshooting to see if it exhibits the same issues? What OS version do you each have? I only have a 4gig in mine and it's ok. But I think I have an 8 gig around here somewhere I could try it. If you buy me a 32 gig I can see if I can duplicate the problem

I don't have a 16gb card available. The 4gb that came w/ the torch worked fine but I couldn't sync my entire music collection. I'm using OS 6.0.0.141 (I had to revert from 6.0.0.246 due to the 866 conf. calling problem) and BB desktop 6.0.1.18.

Mine also worked perfectly with the 4GB card, and it doesnt seem to be a faulty card as when I put music on it my computer can recognise all the files. I am going to try syncing my music a little bit at a time, that could work? If anyone finds a way to fix the problem please tell me, thanks

How do you get 450? The BB desktop software says only 246 is available.

Nevermind. I see that it's not an official release yet.

If it's an official release you want then download and install 6.0.0.337. We have been using it for a couple months without any major issues. It's not official with your carrier but it is official none-the-less, and far far far better than .141 & .246.
Also, imo, there is no harm in using the leaked unofficial versions either.

16gb works fine on .337, I'll try upgrading to .450 and see how my Torch behaves....

I'm ready to chalk it up to a defective card. I'll be installing 450 to see if that improves anything.

    Hi,

I get the same reformatting problems and I am on .450 on a 16gb card. I have reformatted at least 3 times since using 450. And it somehow has something related to playing music.....

You guys ARE ejecting the card via the task manager before unplugging, right?

Yes, I have stopped the USB mass storage device so I can safely remove it but it doesn't matter. I've also just unplugged the phone while the desktop software is running too. As soon as I unplug that cable the phone complains about the media card needing repair every time. I was able to sync some of my music files by manually cut/paste in windows explorer, but it still bombs out when I try all of them. It's very time consuming to sync all of the music files (15gb worth). 450 made no difference.

I bought another 32GB card from a reputable seller (cost a little more $) and it works fine w/ no issues. Apparently there are many counterfeit cards out there. Lesson learned and I did get my money back.
