Is there a working (free) app to automatically lock the keyboard after a configurable number of seconds of inactivity?

I hear a Nexus S beckoning and this is putting me over the edge. I cannot believe they haven't added this after all these years.

You can get a few different apps the auto lock after a set time.

Have a look in app world or crackberry app store...sorry I cnt think of the names of the others...

Sorry I completly forgot... OS6 has the feature built it...

Its part of the password lock. U can set it to lock after a set time too..

Go to options - security - password...

Mainman, please edit your password rather than double post.

You can get Everylock, its a great free program and the developer is a member of the CB community!

Everylock appears not to be free.

I do not want to set a passwrod, I simply want the handset to automatically lock after 30 seconds of inactivity like every other handset ever produced.

i suppose it's down to personal preference but surely it's quite easy to just hit the lock button at the top? It's one of the things i won't be able to get out of the habit of doing if i ever switch away from BB.

You don't have to set a password. It can be used without setting a password.

    You open the application
    1. Go to Settings
    2. Go to keyboard
    3. Under "Lock"
    4. Choose Time
    5. Click add
    6. set the time
    7. Go back to main Menu
    8. turn on keyboard lock

I had this same problem. brought my phone into my service provider and they gave me a new SIM card. I didn't think it would work at the time but it did
