The Bold 9700 has been removed from the AT&T website. Prior to this the 9700 has always been listed on the site, but sometimes as "Temporarily Out of Stock." Hopefully its replacement (the 9780) will be available soon.
At this point, ATT's hand is kind of forced. Much like VZW, ther aren't many current BBs to offer. The Torch which hit some harsh reviews early on. The curve 3G. Dunno if TMO snagged an exclusive on the 9780 but I think the late release definitely has to do with Torch sales. They needed to push the Torch for all it was worth and that they didd for the Holidays. Even tho it's late in the game, I think they'll release it here shortly. Possibly tie it in to the PB release.

From what I can gather, it looks like the Playbook will not be released until March. Someone please tell that AT&T will not wait until March to release the 9780. Not good for me.
The 9000 and 9700 still show up in the AT&T Premier (business) Store. I wonder if I should just assume that the 9780 isn't coming, and just go to a 9700. Double the memory would really do me fine. I tried the Torch keyboard, and it just doesn't do it for me. Honestly, I'll probably wait, since the only problem I have is battery life, on my 9000 (a given). It's been almost 2 years too, so a new battery might not be a bad idea, especially with the 9700/9780 using the same one.

I'm sorry, but I am not seeing this. When I look on the premier business site under "Phones and Devices", I do not see either the 9000 or the 9700; just the Torch, the Pearl, and the Curves.
Models available from AT&T:
BlackBerry Bold 9780, BlackBerry Bold 9700, BlackBerry Bold 9000

That is correct, and isn't it odd that at the moment you cannot purchase any of these three Bolds on the AT&T websites, as noted in this and other 9780 threads.

With Dakota coming sooner or later, anything AT&T does with the 9780 is just too late for me. From the time T-Mobile released the 9780 first, I had been saying I couldn't justify picking up the 9780 from AT&T if they waited too long, because at that time I believed QNX phones were around the corner. Now we see QNX phones are much further away than I had thought, BUT we have actual pics of the Apollo and the Dakota, both of which are GSM, have Blackberry 6.1 and 800mhz+ processors, which in my mind makes the 9780 irrelevant at this point (for AT&T users).
I've got my unlocked Rogers 9780 coming Saturday...and I'm coming back from iPhone 4. It'll be a good BB to use (even though no VVM) until the Dakota or other BB drops to AT&T in the next quarter.
