    Hi,

I just got the 9330 and I really like it. I didn't really need the extra features of the Bold (I have Verizon), so I got the curve, It is perfect for me.

The only thing is I am worried it looks like I have the cheap blackberry. I know it sounds pathetic, but I'll admit, one of the main reasons I wanted a blackberry was for the look.

So coming from a general population, when you see someone with the curve 9330 do you automatically think they have the cheap one or do you just take note that they have a blackberry?

    Thanks

    John

I don't think so. I mean, can you tell it's entry level? Yes, but it doesn't really strike me as cheap. And like you said, you really like it, so does it matter what other people think?

Personally, I'm not a BlackBerry snob, and I know few who are. I've handled the Curve 3G and it felt like a BlackBerry. People thought the 8300 series felt cheap, too, but it was still one of the best sellers ever.

Enjoy your BlackBerry. Don't worry about impressing others. I roll with the Style, and I'm a 45 year-old guy, using what some foolishly call a 'chick phone'. Doggone it's a nice one.

The 9330 is a very good device. Does it have all the features of some other BBs? No. But it is still a very fine BB and looks good too. So I'd say your image is safe.

It's an entry-level model...to give people on a budget a taste of the Blackberry experience...now personally I'd shell out the extra cash for a Bold 9650 but it all depends on your wants/needs.

Noone has ever really taken notice of my phone nor I of theirs. I have the 9300. Someone asked me for a business phone number a few days ago and they were impressed by how quickly I found it using Poynt. Maximizing the capabilities of the phone to simplify your life should be focus, not the superficial look of it.

Listen, enjoy your blackberry, and if someone actually has the ballz to say something to you about using a "cheap looking bb" you can tell them to stick it where the sun don't shine lol.
    .
I upgraded from my Curve 8330(vzw) which I loooooved to death, to the Bold 9650. I wouldve gotten that nice metallic hot pink 9330 verizon has if the camera had flash! That was my only sticking point because I use my bb to take a lot of pixs, hence my choice of the Bold having a flash. Enjoy your 9330, do lots of things with it! Go nuts!

ok, when I actually see someone with a 9330, all I think is "a fellow blackberry user & I wonder if they visit Crackberry" If the person seems friendly enough I will actually ask them, and if they don't know about CB, I will tell them its a great place for info & from your bb browser type in m.crackberry.com and they are usually happy to find out new info & we go our ways
    .
So I hope this has helped as far as my thoughts

The term entry level is dumb anyway. I had a 9650 and now have a Curve 9330 and never missed a beat. I do miss a higher screen resolution, but there are things I prefer about the Curve series such as keyboard, media keys and charging port location. Its a great device and quit worrying about if your BB looks expensive. It looks great!! Its a BB!!!!!!

The Curve is an entry level but highly respected BB, it can do almost any task other BBs can do, its just that it may not have flash or a high res screen.Nevertheless, for the price, it is a great phone.

When I see someone with ANY BB I respect that and they're still part of the BB coMmunity no matter what device they own.

I'd take an entry level BB anytime of the day over a Nokia, Sony Ericcsson, iPhone. Etc.

That, in a nutshell, is one of the primary reasons I declined to upgrade to the Bold from the Tour. And honestly, the new Curve 3G series looks sharper than its predecessor.

I just got the Curve 3G.
And I purchased a white silicone case from BB.
In my opinion it's sexy as ****.
Stop worrying, YOU HAVE A SMARTPHONE.
Most people can't even afford the plan anyways. XD
Keep your head up fellow BB user.
We all respect the brand no matter what product, new or old, budget or high end.

Besides the missing flash I love my curve 3G. It doesn't look or feel cheap to me and it seems more durable than my previous tour and storm wich have met with the ground a couple times.

I think I don't really care. I'm not gonna judge anyone by the phone they have. You're shelling out some serious cash for whatever phone you get nowadays, so your status, if it really matters that much, should be secure.

Not being mean, just being honest.

Really, you prefer the keyboard? Why? Wouldn't the bold's keyboard be more desirable because it is simply bigger and easier to use?

I guess people just like the clicky feel of it as compared to the bold softer feel?

I think they probably have bad credit and took a payday loan out to get a cheapie from Virgin Mobile.

    I'm joking.

Stop worrying about this. No one cares. 90% of people can't tell a Curve from a Bold from a Tour, anyways.

If I ever did meet someone who had a real concern about the looks of my phone compared to theirs, then I would think that is one fortunate person.
Because that would mean he has a place to live, food to eat, he has his health and everything else must be going well in his life for him to have any time at all to ponder about
    such a trivial thing.

A BlackBerry is a BlackBerry. I even respect my friend who has a Pearl 3G because it's still a BlackBerry. I'm jealous of my Torch friends though, but only because I want one for myself (hopefully I'll be the first amongst my friends with the Torch 2 though). Seriously, there's no need to worry. It's a budget BlackBerry yes, but one with a crapload of bang for the buck.
