    In the earlier OS .451 or below you could do that. The lock screen changed after .451.

    I thought that went away after OS 4.6 or 4.7.

    Don't forget displaying owner information is also theme dependent - some themes don't show that information when locked. I had to change themes when I was using one that didn't display the information.

    Yes, themes sounds like a plausible issue.

    I think the OS does support screen lock with ownership display in most current versions (4.6,4.7,5.0).

    No, it's been gone for a long time now. Password lock displays owner info, since that actually locks the device. Screen lock doesn't.

    Two totally different functions.

    I think OS 4.5 had the screen lock info, I remember it on my Pearl and Curve.
