There was a problem with my trackpad so Rogers said they would replace it and send me a new one. Does anyone know if they'll send me a brand new 9780 or a refurbished one?

Warranty exchange or a return within the return period?

You'll most likely get a new one either way.

It was a warranty exchange, btw the trackpad fixed itself and they already shipped out the replacement. So i guess i'll just give them my old one....

Hard to say, I've had both in the past. If it is a refurb, you will know. It will come with a letter explaining that it's a refurb and has a 90 day warranty with it, etc.

You'll most likely get a refurbished one. When I had my 8310 and called in for a warranty exchange they sent me a new one 4 out of the 5 times. All the news ones kept having issues with it until the 5th one where it was refurbished and worked flawlessly. This was when my Curve was just new to Rogers and the 5th one was 6 months after my 1st Curve.

It wouldn't let me move side to side unless i did it a lot of times but it somehow the problem resolved itself.

I guess i'll receive the new one and decide than if it's worth exchanging. There seems to be alot of dud 9780's

I had to return mine twice for trackpad issues abd they told me they were giving me a new one because the device isn't old enough yet to have any refurbs. But mine is the white version that came out later.
