In answer to your question the bezel should fit fine as the form factor is identical. As for tools SW BOX supply a T5/T6 screwdriver and a little prying tool. If you look on youtube you can find a simple disassembly video. Fairly simple. Just be careful not to damage the bottom plate if you plan to reuse it.
I was informed that you cannot buy genuine OEM parts, so it must be a OEM look-alike. And if that is true, my purchase from SW-Box should have similar characteristics. I purchased the matte black bezel, and while from afar it looks perfect, once you get up close, fit and quality is not 100%. The biggest annoyance visually, I'd say, would be the horrible mesh that they use. It's not the OEM mesh. It's some horrible piece that attracts dust like crazy, and you can't get it out. It also bends very easily if you poke at it with a toothpick.
I hope yours is the real deal, because I've been searching.
1. It will fit but not perfectly.
2. T5/T6 screwdriver (comes with it if you paid the extra $0.50) and a prying tool (I used a gift card).
3. There's many videos on YouTube (search 9700 disassembly). One thing that is deceiving is the videos make it look like they pull the bezel up on the sides along the screen, but I found it to be MUCH easier to pull it out to the sides with a fingernail.
I have bought oem bezels and other parts and they have been of perfect quality. A matte black bezel would be a replica because it's not something used on any 9700.
Thats the one I just purchased. It says its an OEM bezel so I hope its genuine and fits perfectly. I order the T5 & T6 tools with it and I have plenty of gift cards knocking about. I decided to get one after holding a 9780 I liked the look of the black bezel.
I could do with mine being replaced. Prefer always to use OEM classed products. Seeing as this one is cheaper than the one for the 9700 I may also purchase that.

That is true, but what's to say they aren't making replicas that look OEM and then labeling them OEM?
@Turkey_Sub28 Please post pictures when you get it installed!
@gavriel Turkey_Sub28 is looking for the 9780 bezel, which is metallic black, not the chrome 9700 one.
I will post a picture as soon as I get it. Will probably be sometime next week. There is one thing i'm worrying about though. If the 9780 wasn't a perfect fit, would the original one that I took off still fit perfectly if i decided to put it back on?
Here are some pictures of the OEM 9780 Bezel on my 9700
Looks great. From your photos, it looks like the trackpad sits a bit low. i have the white faceplate/keyboard from SW and the trackpad sits low making it kinda hard to scroll.. the trackpad is actually lower than the surrounding menu keypad...

just curious if you have the same issue.
I have no difficulty scrolling. Its sits quite well but if your having trouble you can always take it apart and put something round the trackpad or move it a little to solve the problem.

Take the battery out and push a little on the warranty sticker - that should help a bit to level it out. If not and it bugs you that much take the device apart and level it by hand...
^^I've done the above on all me track pad devices with great success

thanks for the suggestion. I tried the pushing on the warranty sticker, but that didn't do much of anything. I've ordered two new faceplates/keypads, so hopefully these will fit a little better. I may also look into the possibility of putting something underneath the trackpad to make it stick up just a mm or so.. that's about all I need really...
