Thx to Junefabrics, I now havet PDaNet working on my spanking brand new (less than a day old) Torch. It took abt 20-minutes to setup. Once setup is complete, I simply click the "Connect To" icon on my service tray,...and click to "Connect" to my "BB 9800 BT" connection. It takes about 3-seconds to connect.

More info? I'm not sure what more I need to say other than I followed the directions listed at Junefabrics.com and was able to use my AT&T 9800 as a modem in 20 minutes.

    Hth...

To add some further info, I use it via usb for my xp netbook. Far easier setup (almost none). Neither my laptop nor my netbook have BT connectivity. So, I can't say if that would require a longer setup process. And I pretty much took no thought as to which tethering app -- PDANet worked pretty much "right out of the box" on my previous WinMo phones. So, that was automatically my first choice for my Torch...with the same experience.
